Adinath Jain Trust, Choolai, Chennai empowers 600 differently abled and underprivileged people with free prosthetic aids worth Rs. 30 Lakhs

Mr. J. Radha Krishnan L.A.S., Commissioner, Greater Chennai Corporation distributed the Aids to the beneficiaries

In an endeavour to empower poor and people with movement disability in their journey from dependence to independence, Adinath Jain Trust, Chosial, Chennai, organised a camp today (18th Nov. 2023) for distributing free prosthetic mobility aids worth Rs. 30 lakhs to 600 beneficiaries.

Mr. J. Radha Krishnan I.A.S.. Commissioner. Greater Chennai Corporation presided over the camp and distributed various accessories and equipments including free modular & artificial limbs, Clutches, tricycles, wheelchairs, glasses, hearing aids and walking supporters to the beneficiaries.

Other special guests who were present at the event were Shri Subashchand Ranka, Shri Pramod Choradia, Shri Stanton Morai, Shri Kamlesh Jain – Jain Metals, Shri C M Karthikeyan, Shri Madanial Chowatia, Shri ADC Bharat B Jain.

Speaking on the occasion, the Trustee of Adinath Jain Trust, Mr. Manoj Jain, said, “These grants are distributed to the poor and differently abled, in memory of Smt. Kasturibai Ranka, with the support of her family members, Sanghvi Sri Kannialal, Sri Subashchand, Sri Naresh Ranka. With a motto of creating and nurturing an inclusive society for the differently abled, we at Adinath Jain Trust have been organising periodical screening and distribution camps for providing artificial prosthetic mobility aids to people with movement disabilities for 44 years now. So far, we have benefitted over 12 lakh people and with today’s camp, we have transformed the lives of 600 more! Our actions stem from our strong belief that with such prosthetic mobility aids, not only will their quality of lives improve, but their confidence and social standing in the society will be elevated to the next level. Furthermore, this will help them seek right employment opportunities that will reduce their dependence on the family members, increase their savings and eventually make their future hopeful, sans the social stigma”.

About Adinath Jain Trust:

Adinath Jain Trust was commenced under the guidance of Late Shri Amarchand

Kochar on the 5th of July 1979 with 32 social minded people. To comply with the

norms of Government and for the better services to the targeted beneficiaries, Mr.

Mohan Jain has authored a public charitable trust in the same name under the Indian

Trust Act, 1882. Since its inception, the trust has been carrying out numerous noble

deeds, for the betterment of humankind. The trust has around 30 different types of

assistive devices available to meet the needs of the underprivileged and the

differently abled, given free of cost to those in need anytime. This trust is organizing

regular free camps in its 32,000 sq.ft. building located at Choolai. It is to be noted

that this building exclusively dedicated for the public services.
