பைசன் காளமாடன் திரைப்படத்தின் மாபெரும் திரையரங்கு வெற்றியைத் தொடர்ந்து, பிர்லா ஸ்டுடியோஸ் மற்றும் நீலம் ஸ்டுடியோஸ் தங்களது கூட்டணியில் அடுத்த திரைப்படமாக “மக்கள் காவலன்” படத்தை அதிகாரப்பூர்வமாக அறிவித்துள்ளது.
ஆக்ஷன் டிராமா வகையில் உருவாகும் மக்கள் காவலன், பிரம்மாண்டமான திரையரங்கு அனுபவத்தை வழங்கும் பிர்லா ஸ்டுடியோஸின் கனவையும், உணர்வுபூர்வமான, சமூக வேர்களைக் கொண்ட, தனித்துவமான திரைப்படங்களை உருவாக்கும் நீலம் ஸ்டுடியோஸின் அர்ப்பணிப்பையும் ஒன்றிணைக்கிறது.
குட் நைட், லவ்வர், குடும்பஸ்தன் ஆகிய படங்களின் வர்த்தக வெற்றியைத் தொடர்ந்து, தமிழ் சினிமாவின் மிகவும் நம்பகமான மற்றும் அதிகம் விரும்பப்படும் முன்னணி நடிகர்களில் ஒருவராக உருவெடுத்துள்ள கே. மணிகண்டனின் அடுத்த படமாகவும் மக்கள் காவலன் அமைகிறது. மேலும், தனது திரைப்பயணத்தில் முதல் முறையாக முழுநீள ஆக்ஷன் டிராமாவில் கதாநாயகனாக அவர் நடிக்கிறார்.
இயக்குநர் சந்தோஷ் குமார் எழுதி இயக்கியுள்ள “மக்கள் காவலன்”, கண்ணியமாக வாழ வேண்டும் என்ற ஒரே எண்ணத்துடன் இருக்கும் ஒரு சாதாரண மனிதனின் கதையைச் சொல்கிறது. ஆனால் ஊழல் நிறைந்த ஒரு அமைப்பு, அவனுக்கு சரணடைவதா அல்லது எதிர்த்து நிற்பதா என்ற இரண்டு வழிகளையே விட்டுச் செல்கிறது. ஒருவரின் உயிர்வாழ்வுக்கான போராட்டமாகத் தொடங்கும் இந்தப் பயணம், அவர் விரும்பாமலேயே மக்களின் தலைவராக மாறும் அளவுக்கு வளர்கிறது. போராட்டம் தீவிரமடையும்போது அதன் விலையும் அதிகரிக்கிறது. இறுதியில், ஒரு சாதாரண மனிதனுக்கும் மக்களின் காவலனுக்கும் இடையேயான எல்லை மெதுவாக மறைந்து விடுகிறது.
இந்தப் படத்தில், முதன்மை கதாபாத்திரத்தில் கே. மணிகண்டன் நடிக்கிறார். அவருடன் வாகை சந்திரசேகர், ஏ. வெங்கடேஷ், ஆர்.கே. விஜய்முருகன், சண்முகம் முத்துசாமி, சபுமோன், உன்னி மாயா, திவ்யா ஸ்ரீபாதா, ஜென்சன் திவாகர், லல்லு, ஜெமினி மணி மற்றும் ரகு ஆகியோர் முக்கிய கதாபாத்திரங்களில் நடித்துள்ளனர். ஒளிப்பதிவு – பிரதீபன் செல்வரத்தினம், படத்தொகுப்பு – அருள் மோசஸ், கலை இயக்கம் – பாப்பநாடு சி. உதயகுமார், சண்டைப் பயிற்சி – டான் அசோக், ஒலியமைப்பு – ஆண்டனி ஜெயரூபன், ஆடை வடிவமைப்பு – சுரேஷ்குமார், ஒப்பனை – ராமச்சந்திரன் ஆகியோர் தொழில் நுட்ப குழுவில் பணியாற்றியுள்ளனர்.
பைசன் காளமாடன் திரைப்படத்தைத் தொடர்ந்து வெற்றிகரமாக தொடரும் இந்தக் கூட்டணியில் உருவாகும் “மக்கள் காவலன்” திரைப்படத்திற்கு நிவாஸ் கே. பிரசன்னா இசையமைக்கிறார்.

Birla Studios and Neelam Studios announce their next film — Makkal Kaavalan
Following the resounding theatrical success of Bison Kaalamaadan, Birla Studios and Neelam Studios have announced the next film from their creative partnership — Makkal Kaavalan.
An action-drama Makkal Kaavalan brings together Birla Studios’ ambition for big-curtain cinema with Neelam Studios’ commitment to stories that are emotionally resonant, socially rooted and unmistakably cinematic.
The film also marks K. Manikandan’s next project following the commercial success of Good Night, Lover and Kudumbasthan, a remarkable run that has established him as one of Tamil cinema’s most dependable and sought-after leading actors. With Makkal Kaavalan, Manikandan becomes the leading man in an action drama for the first time.
Written and directed by Santhosh Kumar, Makkal Kaavalan follows a simple man determined to live with dignity until a corrupt system leaves him with only two choices: surrender or resist. What begins as one man’s struggle for survival grows into something far larger, forcing him to become a leader he never sought to be. As the battle intensifies, the price of resistance mounts and the line between an ordinary man and a people’s protector begins to disappear.
K. Manikandan stars in the titular role alongside Vaagai Chandrasekar, A Venkatesh, R.K. Vijaymurugan, Shanmugam Muthusamy, Sabumon, Unni Maya, Divya Sripada, Jenson Dhivakar, Lallu, Gemini Mani and Raghu.
