Get ready for gripping action as Disney+ Hotstar brings Marvel Studios’ Original live-action series, Echo.. The series traces Maya Lopez’s escape to her Choctaw Nation roots in Oklahoma after her dramatic introduction in Marvel Studios’ 2021 hit, Hawkeye. It also explores her family and legacy, creating a gritty, self-contained tale of power and revenge as she confronts the perilous world of Wilson Fisk’s criminal empire. Tamil dubbing artists Anuradha and Thangamani Prabhu open up about their experience voice acting for the Marvel Studios project.
Thangamani Prabhu, who voiced the character of Kingpin (William Fisk), revealed how he felt about his character. He said, “Bringing Kingpin’s voice to life in Tamil was an incredible transformation for me! The Chennai sound team and I crafted a truly terrifying presence, from bone-chilling whispers to bone-shaking roars that send shivers down spines. This wasn’t just any voice acting job; it was pushing my artistic limits to bring this iconic villain to life in a whole new way for Marvel’s ‘Echo.’ Hearing Kingpin’s menacing words echo through the Tamil dub fills me with immense pride!”
Additionally, Anuradha, who plays the role of Chula, said. “This was one of my favourite dubbing experiences so far. I have done a lot of dubbing before but I had a very peculiar and interesting experience with Chula. She had a lot of expressions and emotions that I got to show, which was challenging for me. The scenes with her daughter were especially touching because of the bitter experiences she had been through. This was a very good opportunity for me to hone my skills as well and I enjoyed it thoroughly.”
The series features a stellar cast, including Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Zahn McClarnon, Cody Lightning, and Graham Greene. promises an action-packed narrative with deep roots in the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma.
