MUFASA: THE LION KING TAMIL VOICE TALENTS PRESS MEET IN CHENNAI
Following the success of the 2019 action blockbuster ‘The Lion King,’ the film ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ is set to be released on December 20, 2024. In the Tamil version, Arjun Das voices the character of Mufasa, while Ashok Selvan voices Taka. Robo Shankar and Singam Puli provide the voices for Pumbaa and Timon, respectively. Actor VTV Ganesh voices the younger version of Rafiki, and actor M. Nassar voices Kiros .
With the film hitting screens this week, the entire voice-acting cast of the film interacted with press and media today.
Here are some excerpts from the event…
Actor Nassar said, “I have worked in many films as an actor and dubbing artist. I like the voices of Sivaji sir, Amitabh Bachchan sir, Raja Annan. In this, Sivaji sir’s voice is my ideal. No matter how old you are, there will always be a child inside you. So, this is not just a film for children alone, but for grownups as well. We have an abundance of ancient legends and historical tales that deserve to be beautifully showcased on screen.”
Actor Singampuli said, “I consider the opportunity of voice acting for ‘The Lion King’ as a priceless gift. Every character in this movie is unique. I am so happy to have rendered voice for Timon character.”
Actor Arjun Dass said, “All the characters in this film have a lot of emotion. So, unlike dubbing for other films, I took scrutinising efforts in voice acting. I hope and believe that you all will like it. I am also a big fan of Mufasa. I think the circle has come full circle for me that I got the opportunity in this film.”
Actor Ashok Selvan, “This is the first time, I am doing voice acting for an animal character. It was a surreal and great experience, and I got an opportunity to learn a lot of new things.”
Actor Robo Shankar said, “I feel elated for having got the opportunity to be a part of this film. I believe everyone will love this movie.”
Actor VTV Ganesh said, “I have done voice acting for the younger version of ‘Rafiki’. Looking forward to the response of audience and lovers of the franchise.”
