The highly awaited Medical Expo 2024, hosted by Hello Mentor, successfully concluded its Chennai Edition. The event was tailored to Tamil Nadu’s NEET aspirants and their parents.
Medical Expo 2024 took place at Kamarajar Arangam, Anna Salai, Teynampet, on Sunday, May 26. The event simplified the complexities of the medical admission process in Tamil Nadu and India and provided much-needed guidance for securing desired medical seats.
Tamil Nadu, known for its competitive medical education landscape, demands the right information at the right time about NEET counselling and admissions. The Hello Mentor Medical Expo focused on this important need, gathering over 5000 NEET UG aspirants and parents eager to gain insights and clarity.
The Expo was structured into three impactful sessions, and started with:
- Seminar: NEET Counselling Guidance Sessions –
The event started with detailed guidance sessions on NEET counselling and admission. Hello Mentor’s Founder and CEO, Shri. Vikram Kumar and Shri. Sujeet Jha, the organization’s Learning and Development Director, led the sessions.
These Guidance sessions thoroughly analysed the NEET counselling and admission processes. Attendees were provided with a clear, step-by-step guide and important statistics and trends from the beginning of registration to the final seat allocation.
The seminar highlighted key facts, such as Tamil Nadu ranking first in India, with 74 medical colleges and 11,600+ MBBS seats. The session also introduced students and parents to lesser-known opportunities, including 35 counselling types and 800 reservation categories. After the seminar, Students and parents could interact with Hello Mentor’s 20+ counselling experts in ‘One-to-One Sessions’ at over 20 booths.
- Personalized Guidance in One-to-One Sessions —
Attendees engaged directly with 20+ NEET counselling experts at these booths. Hello Mentor’s experts addressed individual doubts about college cut-offs, fee structures, required documents, and eligibility criteria.
This personalized attention helped students and parents to make informed decisions about their medical career paths. Priya, a NEET aspirant, stated after her 1-to-1 session, “The mentorship sessions were a game-changer for me. I now feel confident about the NEET counselling process!”.

The tailored 1-to-1 sessions were followed by a Panel Discussion exclusively tailored to Tamil Nadu’s NEET aspirants and their parents.
- Panel Discussion: Illuminating the Path to Your Medical Future –
In the Panel Discussion, educators and important figures from India’s top medical colleges graced this session. The experts informed the attendees about the several factors of medical education and careers. More than 10 medical professionals enriched the audience with their insights.
The Medical Expo 2024 Chennai Panel included the following eminent speakers:
- Shri Vikram Kumar, Founder & CEO – Hello Mentor. His vision has positively impacted 30,000+ students and mentored over 10,000 aspirants to their dream medical college.
- Mr. Sujeet Jha, Director, Learning and Development, Hello Mentor. Seasoned psychologist and a veteran trainer with over half a decade of experience in NEET counselling. Trained and counselled corporates at Oracle, EMC2 and highly notable, officers of the Indian Air Force.
– Dr. Govind S Mittal, Consultant Dermatologist and Dermatosurgeon at Therapeia Bangalore. Dr. Mittal holds an MBBS from BMCRI and an MD-DVL from CMC Vellore and has completed various fellowships and observer ships in laser treatments worldwide.
- Dr. C.D. Anand, Professor at SRM Medical College, Chennai, with 11 years in pathology and 13 years in clinical research in the USA. He completed his postdoctoral molecular genetics and immunology fellowship at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Centre, Seattle.
- Dr. MVS Prakash, Regional Institute of Ophthalmology Director, Government Eye Hospital, Egmore. A leading professor of ophthalmology since 1993, Dr. Prakash has taught at Madras Medical College and holds an MBBS from Stanley Medical College.
- Dr. Sarman Singh, Director (Medical Research) at Aarupadai Veedu Medical College, has over 30 years of experience, including as former Director & CEO of AIIMS Bhopal and Professor at AIIMS Delhi.
- Shri Asghar Hussain, Director of International Admissions at Manipal University College Malaysia and Head of Manipal Global Education Services, has over 13 years of experience in healthcare, telecom, and event management.
- Shri Senthil Kumar, The chief Growth Officer at Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation. He has 23 years of expertise in strategic negotiations, sales, and business planning and is a former Senior Director at Global University System (GUS India).
The discussions covered topics such as choosing the right medical college, alternative healthcare careers, and the realities of medical student life.
The event also saw the launch of Hello Mentor’s 2024 Medical Guidebook and India’s first-ever counselling support portal, www.hellomentor.in.

A significant part of the Expo was dedicated to addressing parent’s questions. They received detailed guidance on post-NEET processes, college selections, and fee structures.
